Serbia Holds Competition, the Eurasia Pays a Visit
Autonomous union of catering and tourism of Serbia, once in two years, holds a competition among workers and students of tourism hotels, vocational villages and tourism departments of universities and colleges at various brancheslike cooking, cleaning, servicing, etc. On the III Summit of Committee of Presidents, Mr. Radan Milovanich invited affiliates of the Federation to the competition which was to be held from 25th to 28th October of 2009. Upon Mr. Radan’s invitation four representatives of the Eurasia Federation were sent. Mr. Habip Karakush led the delegation of the Eurasia Federation. When the delegation arrived back from the competition, Mr. Habip was interviewed about his experience at the competition. Mr. Habip shared his experience with the following words:
Upon Mr. Radan’s invitation four representatives of the Eurasia Federation had left Turkey and arrived in the same day at Belgrade, on 24th October. As you know the competition was held from 25th to 28th October. So we had to arrive a day earlier. There were 4 of us.
At the international airport of Belgrade Mrs. Isidora Milosevich met us. She was an interpreter; she helped us very much. Her help was very valuable. At Kladovo, a city which is located nearby the Danube River, Mr. Radan met us with his vice-chairman, Mr. Dobrivoye. On next day the chairman of Trade Union of Catering and Tourism of FYR Macedonia, Mr. Zoran Georgijevski joined to us. Indeed, the Macedonian union is also a member of the Eurasia Federation. The competition was held at Kladovo, some 300km away from Belgrade. Competitors were competing at various branches, like cooking, cleaning and etc.
During the competition an informal meeting was held. Chairman of the Federation of Autonomous Trade Unions of Serbia, Mr. Ljubisav Orbovic, assistant of minister of tourism, chairmen of tourism trade unions and leaders of concerned organizations were attendees of the informal meeting. During the meeting attendees mainly addressed issueslike privatization, unemployment, layouts, tourism development and EU perspectives of Serbia. To the end of the meeting I was given a right to deliver a speech.
At my speech I firstly thanked Mr. Radan for his invitation and hospitality and told that I was glad to be among my fellow friends from Serbia. I also told about numerous difficulties which were created and are being regenerated by privatization. There after, I wished lucks to Serbian national football team at 2010 World Cup. I also told them about my meeting with the most famous statesman of Serbia Mr. Tito, which was in Izmir.
When competition came to an end, organizers declared winners. Winners were awarded with medals and gifts. And our delegation, on behalf of the Eurasia Federation, awarded winners with money.
After the ceremony of award, reporters from STV2, a Serbian TV channel, told me that they wished to take an interview from me. I told that it was not a problem at all. They took an interview at 21:00 on 27th October, at the coast of the Danube River. Things that were asked by reporters were roughly similar to things about which I had already told at the meeting. It was nice and pleasant interview.
I wouldlike to thank everybody, but especially Mr. Radan and Mrs. Isidora, for their hospitality, assistance and friendship. I and our delegation had really nice time. We established new friendships. We look forward to visit our friends once again.
